Cross Country

10 March 2025 (by Carol Sage (Carol))

This was the las race in the Cross Country series

On Wednesday our cross country runners took part in the final race of the series.  I am delighted to be able to share with you that not only did virtually every child improve on the times they achieved in their first race they all enjoyed taking part and joined in with each race with such enthusiasm and determination.  I am very proud to be  able to announce that Kairo Sage came in 1st position once again for Year 5 boys, as did Freddie Benton for the year 4 boys, with Toby Hayter a close 3rd.  These results meant that Kairo was the highest placed year 5 boy, Freddie the highest placed year 4 boy and Toby the 3rd highest placed year 4 boy in the entire competitionYear 4 girls results—Connie Blackman 9th. Year 4 Boys results– James Wallace 13th, Joel Cripps 14th, Tate Smith 25th, Harper Horton 34th, Jude Liston 51st, and Frankie Green 52nd. Year 5 girls results—Mia Jones 18th, Ava Hands 32nd and Alannah Coles 39th. Year 5 boys results— Marcell Ward 30th and Lennie Smith 40th. Year 6 girls results—Alba Peters 10th and Jessica Campbell-Carr 13th. Year 6 boys results– Jacob Williams 21st, Roman Hurst 24th, Henry Murphy 25th, Rory Hall 36th and Oliver Friday 45th.

An amazing result for such a small school with only 61 children able to take part.  Especially as we were competing against much bigger schools with over 270 pupils able to participate.  Well done to all our children.  Mrs Green said she loved taking you (I’m not sure how much she would have loved it the previous week in the rain however!).
